Dry conditions are prevailing in the Rio Grande Valley. A strong high-pressure system is currently over the Four Corners, leading to a pattern of sinking air and clear skies.

This weather pattern is resulting in high temperatures and plenty of sunshine. The heat index values are also elevated, making the air feel even hotter.
